Founding Artists: Help Build Creative Combat

Every great creative community starts somewhere. Ours starts with you. Creative Combat was created with a simple idea: build a place where artists can grow through friendly competition, challenge themselves, and push one another to new creative limits. The platform is brand new, and we’re looking for founding artists who want to help shape what Creative Combat becomes. The Vision When I first started developing Creative Combat, I had plenty of ambitious ideas. I envisioned monthly art competitions, the ability for members to challenge one another directly, exciting prizes, and a community where emerging artists could gain recognition while sharpening their skills. But I’ve quickly learned that building something worthwhile takes time. Some ideas are easier to bring to life than others, and sometimes the best approach is to start small, learn from experience, and build something better along the way. That doesn’t mean the bigger vision has changed. It just means we’re taking the steps necessary to get there. A Community for Artists, Built by Artists One of my biggest goals is to create a space that celebrates human creativity and the artistic process in an increasingly AI-generated art world. I believe the effort, imagination, and skill behind an artwork matter just as much as the finished piece. That’s why Creative Combat is introducing work-in-progress submissions and proof-of-work features to help showcase the creative process and encourage authentic, artist-made work. These are just the first steps, and I know there’s plenty of room for improvement. More importantly, I don’t want Creative Combat to be shaped by just one person’s ideas. I want the artists who use it to have a voice in its future. That means community voting on upcoming competition themes, artists voting on one another’s work, and member feedback helping guide new features, improvements, and future events. If you have ideas, suggestions, or experience in web development, design, community building, or related fields, I’d love to hear from you. What Founding Artists Can Expect For now, all Creative Combat competitions are completely free to enter. This early stage is about testing the platform, welcoming artists, gathering feedback, and building a community that enjoys returning each month. Competition winners will earn XP and recognition on the platform. As Creative Combat grows, the goal is to introduce additional rewards and special perks for the founding members who helped get everything started. Eventually, I hope to offer competitions featuring prizes such as digital drawing tools, traditional art supplies, and other resources that help artists continue developing their craft. Before that happens, I need to better understand the costs of maintaining and operating the platform, as well as how to sustainably fund future competitions. The goal is to build something that can grow without losing sight of the artists it was created for.
